We had dinner at Morocco.

Violet and Lobster Lou (he's the red thing that's sharing her high chair-- Lou is a gift from Maine from Auntie Shayna!) posing with the menu.

Violet was contemplating what she was going to order for dinner. She wanted to order lobster but just couldn't do that to Lou.

Did I mention that this was Violet's first time in a high chair? We decided to take TONS of picture to document the occasion.

We went to Epcot too.

Violet went on her first ride, Spaceship Earth. I must say that it's an excellent choice for her first ride-- but then again, I'm probably biased.

Violet fell asleep on Spaceship Earth.

We got Violet her "1st visit" to Disney pin. Scared of accidentally poking my daughter, we opted to hold the pin for this kodak moment.

Violet was a little champ all day long. She didn't cry or whine-- not even in the rain!

Good thing I work here because Violet's in love with Disney.

We went to the Animal Kingdom.

It was a family affair--Joe had taken the day off and Yay came along too. It was Violet's very first trip to Disney!

Concerned about the heat, I put Violet in her (according to Yay) "sexy" outfit. It's a halter top. Violet is showing off her legs on the tram ride into Animal Kingdom.

Waiting for the train to take us to Conservation Station.

On the train to Conservation Station.

Violet observes her first piece of elephant poo.

Auntie Shayna visits from Maine!

An impromptu trip brought Auntie Shayna down from Maine for a few days. WOOT! Shayna JUST finished her MA degree at Northeastern. CONGRATS!! I can't begin to tell you how nice it was to see an old friend after a year and a half.

She can walk!

Well, that is, with the assistance of this Sesame Street Walker that we got from Auntie Jeannie. It was Mei's-- who is now a big girl at 2 years of age.

Violet loves to show off her walker.

Practicing her "over the shoulder" pose, Paris Hilton style. But of course, our child will be WITHOUT the scandal and sex. Oh yea, and the copious amounts of money.

She LOOVES this walker. She'll run down the hallways of our house squealing with laughter. She's finally mobile.

And she's also discovered how to open kitchen cabinets. Time to child-proof the place.

Forget Phonics!

Who needs to spend $$$ on educational toys and games, we found out at Mimi's that Finn & Violet love pot lids and spoons.

Spoons and lids make a "fun" clanging noise.

Watch out Jonas Brothers-- another musical family sensation is about to emerge.

Finn & Violet

Wanting to stay ahead of the game, Finn is already trying to read. Violet just wants to get by on her good looks.

"Finn, word on the street is that babies don't need to know how to read for another few years."

"YEARS Finley. YEARS."

"Oh!" said Finley.

"Well forget my phonics lesson today at 3:30. Let's play instead!"

Our First Guests

Uncle Seth and Aunt Dawn dropped by before a fun filled day of shopping! Our first non-family house guests. Hopefully they are just the first of many (hint, hint).

Violet is 6 months old!

So our little one is now 6 months old. She weighs 16 lbs 13 ounces and is 26 inches long! WOOT! According to her pediatrician, she's now in the 50th and 60th %-iles for height and weight. She's finally "average" size. No longer do I call her jumbo baby. Now's she's average sized baby... Needless to say that it doesn't roll off the tongue as nice.

She caught her first cold this weekend. I'll spare the details but its just nasal congestion. Pheew.

Also, big news, I have stopped nursing her. With work and my allergies, she was completely weened off as of last Thursday. Sad day for me but, it makes feedings much easier in that I don't have to find a dark corner at the mall to feed her now. I can feed her anywhere! Anytime! Yey!

Last bit of fun news, I'm finally back to my pre-pregnancy weight... however that doesn't mean that I am back to my pre-pregnancy body. ha ha. Ahhh, the wonderful joys of motherhood.

Our New House

So here is our first house-- after the big move over Labor Day weekend, I'm beginning to think that it's our last move as well. ha ha.

Was this house made for us? Why yes it was-- check out the doggie door to the backyard. Skooter LOVES the door!! Benson still needs to practice. He doesn't like that it swings.

This is just a part of backyard. We have almost a full acre of land.

Is this a crazy tree at an exhibit somewhere? NO! This is a tree in our backyard. And yes, that is a cactus that has grown and wrapped around it.

Our housewarming gift from our realtor. We love cookies :).

We've moved... Again!

All-righty-- just in case you haven't heard, Joe and I bought our VERY first house-- woo hoo!! So the past two weeks have been dedicated to moving. A GREAT BIG SHOUT-OUT to Mimi, Pop, Den, Bart, April, and the kids who came last weekend for the (final, never to leave ever) move!! We closed on the house last Friday, celebrated my mother's 60th birthday on Saturday and moved on Sunday. Life has been hectic.

Our new house is only 3 miles away from where our townhouse was so we're pretty familiar with the neighborhood. I'll have to take some pictures of the house and post them up!!

ALSO-- I started my part-time educator at Walt Disney World. I had my orientation two weeks ago and just had my first week of work this past week. You can find me at the Seas at Epcot teaching guests and their kids about the importance of animal conservation. It's like a teaching job but if you mess up, no need to stress because you'll probably never see these people again. Awesome.

The Truth

What to do...

Violet and Finn were hanging out at Mimi and Pop's when they ran out of things to do...

Finn hoped that tasting Violet's hair would help pass the time... But then, Violet came up with an idea.

"Hey Finn, you wanna see my impersonation of Jabba the Hutt?"

"Wait for it... Wait for it... Here I go!"

"Han, Han, make-cheesay. Pa'sa tah ono caulky malia. Ee youngee d'emperolo teesaw. Twa spastika awahl no. Yanee dah poo noo." (Translates to: Han, Han, I can't make exceptions. What if everyone who smuggled for me dropped their cargo at the first sign of an Imperial Starship. It's not good business.)
